Program – Adria Light provided training to make our chapter official Gilda’s Club Volunteers.

Officer’s Reports:
- Treasurer’s Report – Jane Flanagan reported that we have a balance on hand of 1,781.45. Receipts from the scrapbooking event totaled $1669, including raffle proceeds of $1,269.
- Vice President’s Report – Jane Flanagan reported that the membership will vote on the book selection for the 2014 convention today.
- Secretary’s Approval of the minutes – The minutes taken by Linda Zarych were approved. A motion was made by Jane Flanagan and seconded by Lila Williams.
- Correspondence – Janel Schafer read a thank you note from Barbara Baressi and e-mail from Mary Conover, state president, wishing our chapter luck in our scrapbooking event. Patty Carmen sent regards and thanks for our chapter’s support. Jane Flanagan will write an article for the next state newsletter about volunteer work at Gilda’s Club.
- Parliamentarian – Gail Harris reported that she and a small committee will look at our by-laws and update them over the next biennium.
Committee Reports:
Membership – Loretta Leyrer
- Loretta Leyrer reported there will be an Open House at Janel’s 10-25-13 at 4:30.
- Loretta Leyrer passed out a membership survey sisters completed for a report to be compiled for international.
- Janel passed out invitations and a sign-up sheet
for members and asked that we email updated bio forms to Janel to be saved to our flash drive. Completed: Amy G., Carol B., Gail H., Jane F., Judi M., Karen S., MaryLynn S., Michele P., Randy L., Sandi S., Vicki M., Winnie W, Cathy B.
Programs/Personal Growth – Kathy Reichert

- Kathy reported on the coupon program at The Golden Feather in Hammonton. She handed out bags containing the coupons.
Fundraising – Lila Williams –
- Scrapbooking event was a success
- We should look for a new location, no raffles in future at NCS. Hopefully we can find a location that does not charge a fee.
- Janel created thank you letters and certificates for our event supporters which were then delivered by hand by Kathy, Gail, Sandy, Cathy, and Janel. Our donors were appreciative of the token.
Outreach and Service – Natalie Morris, Linda Zarych, and Jane Flanagan
- Linda Zarych reported that we put together 14 bags for the Women’s Center this summer. We are asking members to pre- assembled bags in the future.Women’s Center Bags should include ( sweat pants and sweat shirt, t-shirt, slip on sandals, socks, underwear, wash cloth, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, and lotion)
- Little Dresses for Haiti – Janel will contact Sandi SantaMaria about a date for a meeting, probably after the holidays. Members thought Friday night would be best. We have plenty of pillowcases.
- Gilda’s Club –Jane Flanagan reported that our next visit is set for Tuesday, November 12th from 6:45PM-8PM, a game night. Future dates are 1/7, 3/11, 5/13 and 7/15.
- Atlantic City Rescue Mission - Jane reported that we will visit the Rescue Missiion on Saturday, October 26, from 10AM to 1PM. Members are available on Sunday nights to serve dinner. Future dates are 12/1, 2/2, 3/30 and 6/1. Six members are needed per visit.
Nominations – Linda Zarych and Natalie Morris
- All nominations for 2014-2016 biennium officers must be made by the end of the December meeting.
- Nomination forms were distributed.
- Voting will take place at the Initiate’s Tea.
- Installation of new officers will take place at the Spring meeting.
World Fellowship/Yearbook – Randy Levy - nothing at this time.
Legislative Action – Janel Schafer – nothing at this time.
Scholarship – Cathy Barish
- Committee will be organizing to set procedures and qualifications
- Lou Schultz reported that Toni’s Gift awarded $50 to an 8th grader, Altea Parlapiano, June 7th at the William Davies Middle School. A thank you letter was received from Davies thanking us for coming in person to accept the award.
- New $250 gift to student planning on majoring in education – Cathy Barish reported that we are considering a scholarship to a Stockton student. Gail Harris made a motion to award money to a Stockton student . It was seconded, voted upon and passed. Cathy will work on an application.
- Janel Schafer reported that we need a committee to write an application for teacher grants for 2014.
Convention – Sandy SantaMaria, Sandi sent a report to members by e-mail.
- Assignments are now for 2 years, we and 5 other chapters have been given the luncheon and dinner.
- 2014 Xi and Iota will create centerpieces. Sandi is accepting suggestions for themes and ideas for centerpieces.
- 2015 Xi and Iota will do the menus and programs.
Old Business:
- Chapter App – Rose and Key - Janel or Jane can help you get this on your phone or device, Jane reported how helpful it has been for her.
- Up-coming meeting dates are 12/10/13, 2/10/14, 5/7/14.
- Xi sweats, t-shirts - Natalie will be looking into this further.
New Business:
- Randy Levy made a motion that we buy a plank with our name on it for the boardwalk at the Forsythe Wildlife Refuge; Lorreta Leyer seconded it. The motion was voted on and passed.
